 俄亥俄州員警在徒步追逐一英尺後與持刀殺人犯在伊利湖水域對峙，謀殺嫌犯希望員警殺他，但員警最終以 Taser 電擊槍成功制服該名嫌犯。

員警的隨身攝影機錄下的影片顯示員警和持刀殺人犯對峙情形。

8月28日員警受理報案，到達現場時發現43歲的Jeffrey Conrad這名男子手持一把刀，員警徒步追逐該名嫌犯到伊利湖水域。

員警多次下令嫌犯放下獵刀，但嫌犯不聽從命令，員警認為嫌犯當時希望員警射殺他以達成其自殺之目的。

對峙當時嫌犯告訴員警：「做您該做的事」。

Bratenahl警局員警Robert Pitts最後終於接近該嫌並使用 Taser 順利制伏他。

對峙當時員警並不知道嫌犯已經殺死其40歲前妻。

據美國廣播公司報導，警方使用 Taser電擊槍5次令嫌犯失去抵抗順利將之逮捕。

員警Pitts表示「嫌犯希望員警殺他以達成自殺目的，但我不會給他這樣的機會。」

BRATENAHL, Ohio — Body camera video has been released of a standoff between Ohio police and a knife-wielding murder suspect.
Fox 8 reports police were called to the scene of a man armed with a knife on August 28.
43-year-old Jeffrey Conrad led officers on a foot pursuit that ended in a standoff in the waters of Lake Erie.
According to WKYC, police ordered Conrad to drop the hunting knife multiple times to no avail. Police believe Conrad was seeking ‘suicide by cop’ at the time of the standoff.
Conrad told officers to "do what you have to do," during the incident.
Bratenahl Police Officer Robert Pitts was eventually able to get close enough to TASER Conrad and subdue him.
Officers did not know Conrad was a suspect in the fatal stabbing of his ex-wife, 40-year-old Amanda Russell, at the time of the standoff.
According to ABC 5, police deployed the TASER five times to get Conrad fully under control.

“He was trying to play suicide by cop,” Officer Pitts told ABC 5. “I chose that I wasn’t going to provide him that opportunity.”
